Motorola's Power up animations have played a great part in the company branding in their mobile devices. This power up was no different. A sleek and elegant introduction bringing together the many people of the world thru communication in an ending of color splash and the motorola tag line, "HELLOMOTO". Which was to be placed on all devices, including and especially their hero device, RAZR 2.
Custom power ups were also created for other brands in special crossovers such as Ferrari. Along with other clients such as T-Mobile and Sprint, AT&T, Cricket, Alltel and various others. While keeping within their individual guidlines.
With all specific power ups, careful testing per device and re-sizing was done to achieve the best look and feel.

Designing the elegance
That years art direction titled ONYX gave an overall look and feel to the years design direction. A sleek, elegant, reflective, and mirco texture are some words used to describe the direction of the power up. Light emerging from the shadows of the logo then expanding into various colors reveal the company tag line. Showing the unity of community thru communication.
Not to give up too much of the magic. But the dynamic purple aura that emanates from the logo was created using Aftereffects driven by a stroke effect that generated the color and movement of the aura. And details simulated by a particle generator creating the subtle overlapping and line texture to the overall effect.
